Settlement of Wagers
Statistics provided by the official score(s) provider or the official website of the relevant competition or fixture will be used to settle wagers. Where statistics from an official score(s) provider or official website are not available or there is significant evidence that the official score(s) provider or official website is incorrect, we will use independent evidence to support bet settlement.
In the absence of consistent, independent evidence or in the presence of significant conflicting evidence, bets will be settled based on our own statistics.
Boxing/MMA/UFC
Bets on postponed fights will stand for 30 days. If either fighter is replaced with another fighter all bets will be void and stakes returned.
For betting purposes, the fight is deemed to have started when the bell is sounded for the beginning of the 1st round.
If either fighter fails to answer the bell for the next round, then his opponent will be deemed to have won in the previous round.
In the event of a fight being declared a No Contest all bets will be void, and stakes returned, with the exception of markets where the outcome has already been determined.
To Win the Fight
In the event of a draw all bets will be void, and stakes returned, this includes a fight which ends in a Majority Draw. Bets will be settled on the official result announced in the ring. Subsequent appeals/amendments do not affect settlement (unless the amendment was made due to human error when announcing the result).
All bets will have action regardless of changes to number of rounds to be fought.
Fight Outcome 5-Way / Exact Method of Victory
Settlement will be based on the official declared result.
Draw or Technical Draw - Draw is scorecard draw. Technical Draw is if the referee stops the fight before the start of the 5th round, for any reason other than Knockout, Technical Knockout or disqualification.
KO or TKO - Knockout (KO) is when the boxer does not stand up after a 10 count. Technical Knockout (TKO) is the 3 knockdown rule or if the referee steps in. Any corner retirement will be considered a technical knockout (TKO), unless the fight is subsequently decided by the judges’ scorecards, or is a declared a No Contest.
Technical Decision - Decision is on scorecard points between the judges. Technical Decision is settled by the judges’ scorecards at any time other than at the end of the scheduled rounds.

Split Decision - Decision is on scorecard points between the judges. Split Decision is defined as the same fighter scoring more points than the other on two of the judges' scorecards, but the third judge scoring the other fighter as the winner.
Unanimous Decision - Decision is on scorecard points between the judges. Unanimous Decision is defined as the same fighter scoring more points than the other on all three of the judges' scorecards.
Disqualified Opponent – Defined as when a bout is stopped short of a KO, TKO or judges' decision because, intentionally, one or both contestants have repeatedly fouled or violated other rules, and the referee declares a disqualified boxer who as a result automatically loses the bout to the opponent.
All bets will have action regardless of changes to the number of rounds to be fought.
Total Rounds
For settlement purposes where a half round is stated then 1 minute 30 seconds of the respective round will define the half to determine under or over.
If the number of rounds for a fight is changed after this market has been set then all bets will still have action unless the new number of rounds result in the quote being higher than the total number of rounds to be fought.
For UFC specifically, where a half round is stated then 2 minute 30 seconds of the respective round will define the half to determine under or over.
Round or Group of Rounds Betting
If for any reason the number of rounds in a fight is changed then bets on round betting already placed will be void and stakes returned.
For betting purposes betting on rounds or groups of rounds is for a fighter to win by KO, TKO or disqualification during that round or group of rounds. In the event of a Technical Decision before the end of the fight all bets will be settled as a win by Decision.

Round Groups/Round Betting - For settlement purposes betting on rounds or groups of rounds is determind on fighter to win by KO, TKO or disqualification during that round or group of rounds. In the event of a Technical Decision before the end of the fight, all bets will be settled as a win by Decision. Should a wager struck at a price on the day of an event couple selection(s) in that event with selection(s) in future event(s) then if the first selection(s) does not run the wager will be executed on the remaining selection(s) on the basis of all-in, run or not.
Postponed Races
If a race is postponed to another day and final declarations stand then bets stand. However, single bets on horse racing will be made void and any selection involved in accumulative bets will be treated as a non-runner if:
The race is abandoned.
The race is officially declared void.
The conditions of the race are altered after bets are made (as defined under Tattersalls rules).
The venue is altered.
The running surface is altered (e.g. Turf to Dirt/All Weather or vice versa).
Each-Way Betting
Bets are settled to win unless Each-way is selected. An Each-way bet is a bet of twice the selected unit stake. It contains one bet of unit stake on the selection to Win and one bet of unit stake on the selection to be Placed according to the terms advertised for the event. In general, for SA horse racing the Place part of Each-way bets will be settled as per the following Place terms:
Handicaps 16 or more runners one quarter the odds first four Places
Handicaps 12 15 runners one quarter the odds first three Places
All other races of 8 or more runners one fifth the odds first three Places
Races of 5, 6 or 7 runners one quarter the odds first two Places
Less than 5 runners the Place money is invested to Win
In all races the number of runners shall be the number of runners coming under starters orders. Bets will not be accepted where the Place stake exceeds the Win stake. Each-way doubles, trebles and accumulators will be settled Win to Win and Place to Place in accordance with the above.
Dead-Heats
Where two selections dead-heat half the stake money is lost, and the full odds are paid to the other half. If more than two dead-heat the stake is proportioned accordingly.
Favourites
Wagers will be accepted win only at starting price for 1st and 2nd favourites. The Place part of any wager inadvertently accepted for unnamed favourites will be settled as a Win stake.
In the event of two selections starting joint favourites then stakes are divided equally. Where three or more selections start co-favourites, stakes will be divided proportionately. However, if such joint favourites or co-favourites are returned at a price whereby, irrespective of result, no profit could be accrued by the backer of the favourite, the unnamed favourite will be treated as a non-runner, in both single and accumulative bets.
Should the favourite be withdrawn before coming under starter's orders but too late for a new market to be formed then bets on the favourite in that particular race are void. In the event a joint or co-favourite being withdrawn then the proportion of stakes on that selection will be void and the remaining proportion of stakes will be divided equally on the selections that do run.
Forecast Betting
Forecasts are accepted for all races of 3 or more actual runners and will be settled as a straight forecast (selections to finish 1st and 2nd in correct order) in accordance with the computer straight forecast dividend. If there are less than 3 actually running in a race, then all forecasts for that race will be void. In the event of no straight forecast dividend being declared then forecasts will be settled in accordance with the NSL straight forecast chart provided that 3 or more actually run in that race.
Where a client selects combination forecasts A B C and stakes for 6 bets this will be settled as 6 straight forecasts as follows:
AB BA
AC CA
BC CB
Forecast bets are not accepted containing unnamed favourites.
Should any forecast contain a non-runner then the total stake will be placed to Win on the other selection. In fixed price forecasts the remaining selection will be settled at SP.
In races where a horse finishes alone and no forecast dividend is returned then all forecast bets nominating that horse to finish first will be settled as a Win single at SP on the winning horse. All other forecast bets in the race are lost.
In the event of two or more horse’s dead-heating for first or second place then separate dividends will be declared and paid to each qualifying forecast. In fixed price forecasts the full odds will be paid with the stake split according to the number of horses which dead-heat.
Tricast Betting
You may take early prices or show prices in straight Tricasts when available, in a fixed price Tricast. This is available on all horse races of 8 or more runners. If any withdrawals result in a total Rule 4 (Deductions) of £0.10 in the £ or greater than a fixed price Tricast will be settled at the computer Tricast dividend. However, if no computer Tricast dividend is declared (e.g. in non-handicaps) then a fixed price Tricast will be settled as a computer straight forecast on the first two named selections irrespective of where the third named selection finishes.
The following applies to both Tricasts and fixed price Tricasts: if one selection is a non-runner then the bet will be settled as a straight forecast at the computer forecast dividend. If there are two non-runners, then the bet will be settled as an SP single on the remaining selection.
Tricasts are not accepted including unnamed favourites.
In the event of two or more horse’s dead-heating for first, second or third place then separate dividends will be declared and paid to each qualifying Tricast. In fixed price Tricasts the full odds will be paid with the stake split according to the number of horses which dead-heat. Tricasts are accepted for singles only.
Show/Board Prices
Should a horse be withdrawn no show/board price will be laid after the time of withdrawal unless the market is reformed.
Early Morning Prices/Day of Event Prices
After the final declarations stage, non-runner no bet. Rule 4 (Deductions) will apply.
Reserves
In races with reserves, any bets taken prior to a reserve horse being declared to run and if the reserve was not priced up at the time the bet was placed, then any such bets will be settled on the result 'without the reserve runner(s)'. Each way bets settled on the result "without the reserve runner(s)" will be based on the number of runners, excluding reserves, that start the race. In races where reserves are priced but do not run, no Rule 4 (Deductions) will be applicable.
Withdrawals Other Than AntePost
Where a horse is withdrawn before coming under starter's orders, or is officially deemed by the starter to have taken no part in the race, then stakes will be returned on the withdrawn horse and winning bets will be subject to deductions in accordance with Rule 4 (Deductions). The rate of deduction will be based on the price of the withdrawn horse at the time of its withdrawal on the following scale:
Rule 4 (Deductions) Table
Deduction table for withdrawals other than AntePost
1/9 or shorter £0.90
2/11 to 2/17 £0.85
1/4 to 1/5 £0.80
3/10 to 2/7 £0.75
2/5 to 1/3 £0.70
8/15 to 4/9 £0.65
8/13 to 4/7 £0.60
4/5 to 4/6 £0.55
20/21 to 5/6 £0.50
EVS to 6/5 £0.45
5/4 to 6/4 £0.40
8/5 to 7/4 £0.35
9/5 to 9/4 £0.30
12/5 to 3/1 £0.25
16/5 to 4/1 £0.20
9/2 to 11/2 £0.15
6/1 to 9/1 £0.10
10/1 to 14/1 5p
over 14/1 no deduction
In the event of two or more horses being withdrawn before coming under starter's orders then the total deductions shall not exceed £0.90 in the £.
Should a horse be withdrawn, and a new market formed then any bets laid at show prices prior to the new show will be subject to the above deductions. In the event of a further withdrawal after the market has been reformed then bets placed at show prices in the original market will be subject to a further deduction based on the price of the withdrawn horse in the original market. Bets placed in the new market will be subject to a deduction based on the current price.
The above scale will also apply in the case of non-runners in early price races and will be used for other events where we specifically advertise that deductions in line with Rule 4 (Deductions) will apply.
ReRuns
In the event of a false start, etc. resulting in a race being rerun, 'under starter's orders' is negated and stakes will be refunded on horses taking no part in the rerun. Returns on the remaining runners subject to Rule 4 (Deductions). The number of runners taking part in the rerun governs Place terms.
Walkovers and Void Horse Races
Walkovers and void races count as races, but any horse so involved will be treated as a non-runner for settlement purposes.
Best Odds Guaranteed (BOG) Rules
If you take the price and the starting price (SP) is bigger, we will pay you out at the bigger price. If you take a price of 4/1 and the selection wins with a SP of 5/1, we pay you 5/1. If the horse wins at odds of 3/1, we pay you 4/1.
This applies to SA and Ireland horse racing only.
This applies to early prices, board prices and for singles and multiples.
This offer applies to new and existing VBET customers.
This offer does not include Ante-Post/Future Horse Racing, Tote/PMU Pool Bets, any VBET packaged multiple, boosted odds or any other ‘special’ bets.
In the event of a Rule 4, we will pay out at the bigger odds if applicable, after the Rule 4 deduction has been applied.
Non SA and Ireland
For some of the major overseas horse races an industry SP and Forecast/Tricast may be declared. In these cases, if no price is taken and Tote (Pari-mutuel) is not requested, then bets will be settled based on the industry declared SP and Forecast/Tricast dividends. Normal place terms will apply for Each-way betting.
The above also applies to bets placed for racing in Dubai.
If on the day of a race the surface is altered (e.g. Turf to All Weather or vice versa), then bets will stand.

Soccer
90 Minutes Play
All match markets are based on the result at the end of a scheduled 90 minutes play unless otherwise stated. This includes any added injury or stoppage time but does not include extra-time, time allocated for a penalty shootout or golden goal.
The exceptions to this rule are in relation to friendly matches, where all match markets will be settled based on the actual result when the game finishes (excluding any extra-time), irrespective of whether the full 90 minutes is played, and Beach Soccer where markets are specifically settled on 36 minutes play only.
For matches listed specifically as Youth, for the purpose of reference, ‘’Youth’’ is a generic term we use for Soccer matches played between teams where the players are aged below 23 years old.
Extra-Time In-Play/Live Markets
Bets are settled on the official statistics for the extra-time period. Any goals or corners that were taken or scored during regulation time do not count.
Matches Postponed, Brought Forward or Abandoned
An unplayed or postponed match will be treated as a non-runner for settling purposes unless it is played within the same week (ending on Sunday) in which case the bet will stand unless cancelled by mutual consent.
If a match is rescheduled from the weekend to a Monday night for the purpose of live TV coverage, then all bets on that match will stand.
Should any match be played prior to the date or kick-off time denoted then any such match may be included provided the wager is placed not later than the revised kick-off time.
Any match abandoned before the completion of 90 minutes play will be void except for those bets the outcome of which has already been determined at the time of abandonment. The market must be fully determined for bets to stand For example, first player to score or time of the first goal bets will stand provided a goal has been scored at the time of abandonment.
The only exception to the above abandoned match rule, is for all South American club matches where Full-Time Result and Double Chance markets (both pre-game and In-Play/Live) will be settled on the score at the time of the abandonment providing the relevant league allows the result to stand.
Matches not Played as Listed
If a match venue is changed (other than to the away team's ground) then bets already placed will stand providing the home team is still designated as such. If the home and away team for a listed match are reversed (e.g. match is played at the original away team's ground) then bets placed based on the original listing will be void.
We will endeavour to identify on our Website all matches played at a neutral venue. For matches played at a neutral venue (whether indicated on our site or not), bets will stand regardless of which team is listed as the home team.
If an official fixture, lists different team details to those listed on our Website then bets will be void e.g. official fixture specifies in the team name, Reserves/Age Group e.g. Under 21's/Gender e.g. Women.
In all other cases bets stand, including instances where we list a team name without specifying the term 'XI' in the name.
Settlement of Wagers
Statistics provided by the Press Association (PA) will be used to settle wagers. Where PA statistics are not provided or there is significant evidence that the PA statistics are incorrect, we will use independent evidence to support bet settlement.

Subsequent disqualifications and/or appeals will not affect bets.
If the conditions of a specific event are changed from those originally listed by the official governing body then bets will be void, unless settlement of the bet(s) is already determined. E.g. altered official distance (note: for Cross-Country and Biathlon bets will be void if the official (listed) distance is changed, but will stand if the actual course distance is changed)/fewer rounds or order of events, with the exception of Ski Jumping events, where results will stand for markets providing one round is completed in full (including if the event/round is subject to a re-start, but excluding Winning Margin - see below rule). Specifically, for In-Play/Live Ski Jumping, if an event is abandoned during the 2nd round, meaning that 1st round results become the official event result; then any bets placed after the completion of the 1st round will be void.
Specifically, for Cross-Country Skiing, Tour de Ski and Ski Tour Canada Outright markets; settlement will be based on the official final ranking published by the governing body, irrespective of whether or not all scheduled events are held.

Where FIS points are not applicable participants with the same time/distance will be settled as a Push.

If both participants fail to register a result in the official 1st round/run standings, either by failing to finish or being disqualified during the 1st round/run, then bets will be void.
If both participants qualify for the next round but neither completes the event, then bets will be void. For Cross-Country sprint event match-ups the final official placing for the event will be used to determine settlement.
If a player is disqualified or withdraws after starting either prior to the completion of the first round, or after both players have qualified for a further round, the other player is deemed the winner, assuming that player completes the respective round.
If a player is disqualified during a subsequent round, when the other player in the match bet has already not qualified for that round, the disqualified player is deemed the winner.
If the conditions of a specific event are changed from those originally listed by the official governing body then bets will be void, e.g. shorter course distances/fewer rounds or jumps/order of events; with the exception of ski-jumping events, where results will stand for match betting providing one round is completed in full (including if the event/round is subject to a re-start).

Next Play
Winning bets must predict whether the next play is a 'Run', 'Complete Pass' or 'Incomplete Pass'. If a penalty occurs on the play, all bets are void (no action) unless the penalty yardage is assessed after the original yardage of the play stands or it is a dead−ball penalty.
If an offensive team 'quick−kicks' the ball, all bets on Next Play will be void (no action).
A 'Run' for betting purposes is defined as any attempt by an offensive player to gain or lose yardage by a handoff or unassisted running play as per the following examples:
a) Any handoff or handoffs by any offensive player in which a legal forward pass is not attempted;
b) Any fumble by an offensive player, regardless of who recovers the ball in which a legal forward pass is not attempted, including the quarterback being sacked or a fumbled snap;
c) An offensive player who throws a lateral (as ruled by an official) in which the lateral (as ruled by an official) in which the lateral is recovered or not, and a legal forward pass is not attempted;
d) A quarterback sack, sneak or going to a knee;
e) An offensive player taking an intentional safety.
A pass for betting purposes is defined as any offensive player who throws or attempts to throw a legal forward pass in the following examples.
a) If a player is sacked by the defense and losses the ball whilst attempting, in the official's eyes, to throw a pass, this is an 'Incomplete Pass'.
b) A shuttle pass (complete or incomplete) will be ruled as a pass.
c) If the offensive player is called for an intentional grounding, this is an 'Incomplete Pass'.
The Next Play bet may be offered on occasion with five possible outcomes: 'Run', 'Pass Complete', 'Pass Incomplete', 'Sack' and 'No Play'. 'No Play' comprises of any penalty accepted where the result of the play does not count. Sack is classified as a defensive player tackle of the quarterback attempting to pass the ball behind the line of scrimmage.
First Down Next Play
Winning bets must predict whether the team with possession will achieve a first down in the play. An offensive touchdown will be settled as a first down. A first down will not be settled when a player gains the yardage for a first down, then fumbles, with the opposing team recovering the fumble. It will be settled as 'No First Down'. If the offensive team fumbles the ball and the defensive team recovers the fumble, but in turn fumbles the ball back to the original offensive team all in the same play, due to change of possession on the play no first down has been achieved. In no way can a defensive team be awarded a first down. Any penalty resulting in the offensive team being given a first down will be awarded as such.
Any offensive play negated by a penalty will be considered a 'No Play' and bets made void (no action).
Plays to 1st Down
Winning bets must predict the number of plays before the next first down is achieved.
If there is a penalty on a play that is accepted, the play will considered a 'No Play' and the play will not count towards the total. This includes a penalty on a play that would give the offensive team an automatic first down − this play does not count and the bet will settled as of the last completed down played. For example, if it is '1st and 10' and the defense causes a penalty that gives the offensive team a first down then 'No 1st Down' will be settled as the winner.
Drive Result
Winning bets must predict the outcome of a drive by the offensive team with possession. For the purposes this bet 'Others' comprises turnovers, turnovers on downs, end of half or game, muffed punt and safety.
Make Field Goal
Winning bets must predict whether the player attempting a field goal is successful or not. This bet is only valid on a field goal attempt where the ball is actually kicked. Fake field goals, bad snaps, penalties or other plays that do not result in an attempted field goal will be deemed void (no action).
Punt Result
Winning bets must predict the outcome of a punt by the team with possession.
If the ball is not punted because of a bad snap, a deliberate fake punt or a penalty that nullifies the punt, the bet will be void (no action). A 'Fair Catch' must be signalled as such and the catch made. A 'Run' is any attempt to return the ball in the hands of the team receiving the punt and also includes an on−side kick. 'OOB' (out of bounds) is classified as any area where the ball crosses outside of the sidelines of the field of play. 'Downed' is classified if the ball ceases to move on its own or is downed by the kicking team touching the ball before the receiving team. 'Blocked' is classified if the receiving team succeeds in blocking the punt and the ball is touched behind the line of scrimmage. If the kicked ball, despite being touched by the receiving team, nonetheless crosses the line of scrimmage on its own impetus, it is considered to have been partially blocked and the same rules apply as if it had not been blocked.
Kickoff Result
Winning bets must predict the outcome of the kickoff. If a ball is not kicked off because of a penalty that nullifies the play, the bet will be void (no action). A 'Touchback' will only occur if it is awarded as such by the officials. 'OOB' is classified as any area where the ball crosses outside of the side lines of the field of play.
Superbowl/Conference/Division Winner
Winning bets must predict the winner of the Superbowl, Conference or Division. If the regular NFL season is not completed, bets on these markets are void (no action). Bets on Division winners will stand providing the Divisions are completed.

Customers can place a multiple (parlay) on the Handicap (point spread or side) and Total Points in the same game of all American Football games (unless circled). Customers can also place a multiple on (parlay) the Match Prices (Moneyline) and the Total Points in the same game of all American Football games (unless circled). Customers cannot, however, place a multiple on (parlay) the Handicap (point spread or side) and the Match Prices (Moneyline) in the same game. Customers cannot place multiples (parlay or tease) on the first half of a game with the outcome of the full game.
Buying and Selling Lines
Buying or selling points allows you the ability to change the Handicap (point spread or side) or Total Points value for a game. Customers can move the Handicap (point spread or side) so that they receive more points if they are betting on the underdog or giveaway less points if they are betting on the favourite. For each half−point that they change the Handicap (point spread or side) value, they will need to deduct an amount off the price offered. On the other hand, the price will be greater for giving up extra half points.

ODIs - Bets on the total runs (over/under) and total sixes (over/under) in an innings will be void if the intervention of rain or any other delay results in the number of overs being reduced by 5 overs or more than that scheduled when the bets were struck; unless settlement of bets is already determined. This applies to both ante-post and In-Running betting.
T20s - Bets on the total runs (over/under) and total sixes (over/under) in an innings will be void if the intervention of rain or any other delay results in the number of overs being reduced by 2 overs or more than that scheduled when the bets were struck; unless settlement of bets is already determined. The innings must be completed (declarations count) otherwise bets are void unless settlement is already determined. This market is based on a century (as opposed to 100 runs) being scored.
Match Betting
If a Test Match is tied all draw bets are losers and a dead heat between the two sides is declared. If a match is abandoned due to outside interference then bets will be made void. In drawn games a minimum of 200 overs must be bowled, otherwise bets void.
First Innings Lead
This is a bet where you can select which team will have scored the most runs in the 1st innings of a test match. In the event of a tie, the dead heat rule applies.
Spread Betting
Supremacy
Stop Loss: 150 points. A spread on which side will win the match and the margin of victory. If the team that bats first wins the game, they are awarded 1 point for each run they win by. If the team that bats second wins the game, they are awarded 10 points per wicket won by.
The result will be calculated according to the above points system and will take into account the quote at the time the bet was taken. In the event of this match ending in a tie the result will be settled at 0. If the second innings of a limited overs match is reduced in anyway, for whatever reason, all supremacy bets, whether open or closed, will be void. For Test matches the same rules apply as per limited overs supremacy. Should the test end in a draw or a tie then the market result is zero. Note: This market can have a negative result and is a supremacy market where the favourite is listed first and the underdog second.
As an example SA bat first against India and scores 300 runs. The supremacy is set at SA/England 20 – 30. If you fancy SA will win the match by more than 30 runs, then you could bet high on the supremacy at 30 and win 1 point for every run over 30 that SA win by or lose 10 points for every wicket England win by and the initial 30 points quoted. If you believe England will lose by less than 20 runs or will win the match then you could bet low on the supremacy at 20 and win 10 points for every wicket England win by plus the initial 20 runs quoted or loose 1 point for every run above 20 that England lose by. The result for the supremacy will be multiplied by the amount of money staked and paid out accordingly.
Total Runs
This is a spread on the total number of runs in an innings. In limited overs, bets are void if less than 90% of the scheduled overs are bowled. In a Test Match, an “incomplete 1st innings” is defined as any 1st innings in which a team has lost less than 8 wickets or fewer than 80 overs are bowled. A batsman who has retired hurt and does not return to the crease is considered out for the purpose of this rule. An “incomplete 2nd innings” is defined as any 2nd innings in which a team is not bowled out and fewer than 20 overs are bowled. In any Test Match innings, all open or closed bets will be void on the Innings Run Market if the innings is incomplete, according to the definition above. An innings in which a team is bowled out is obviously complete, however many overs have been bowled.
1st 15 Overs Runs, 1st 6 Overs Runs
A spread on the total amount of runs scored in the 1st 15 overs of this innings. If the number of overs in the innings are reset to less than 15 by Duckworth-Lewis, then all bets both open and closed will be void.
Batsman Runs
A spread on the total amount of runs this batsman will score in this innings. All bets on this market will stand, regardless of interruption or abandonment of the match, if at least one ball is bowled in the innings after the batsman in question has come to the crease.
Opening Partnership
This is a spread on the total score at the fall of the first wicket. If an innings is curtailed due to rain or ends before the fall of the first wicket then the partnership will be the total on which the innings ends. A batsman who retires hurt is not considered out. All bets on this market will stand, regardless of interruption of abandonment of the match, if at least one ball is bowled in the innings.

Note: Any price that falls between two ranges will default to the lower deduction percentage. Any bets struck "with a run" after the official announcement of the withdrawal of one or more horse’s/contestants shall not be subject to any adjustments unless there are further withdrawals. Should two horse’s/contestants be withdrawn simultaneously and both are subject to a deduction on any winning bets, the deductions shall be applied separately and not simultaneously. Deductions shall not apply to starting price bets, unless a late withdrawal(s) occur. In all horse races where a runner is withdrawn, or adjudged not to have started - and therefore been declared a Non-Runner by the starter - stakes on that selection will be refunded. (The exception to this being Ante Post bets).
Bets on the remaining runners in that race, taken at Early Prices or at Show Prices prior to withdrawal, will be subject to a deduction. This is based on the deduction table listed above and is dependent on the Non-Runner's price at the time it was withdrawn.
In reformed markets, the total deduction on the two or more horse’s - one in the original market and one in the reformed market - will be calculated on the prices at the time of scratching i.e. original market price for 1ST non-runner and reformed price for 2ND non-runner.
Bets on horse’s in subsequent markets that then have one or more withdrawn horse’s will have a deduction calculated on the prices applicable to that market at the time of the withdrawal.
In the event that there is insufficient time to form a new market on the race, S.P. bets may also be subject to a deduction based on the deduction table listed above.
For bets at Early Prices, the application of the deduction table above will be determined by the last price available at the time the horse is withdrawn.

Example: You choose one horse in each of Legs 1 to 4 and two horse’s in each of Legs 5, 6 and 7. If all choices finish in the first 3, payout is won eight times (1x1x1x1x2x2x2 = 8).
Calculate The Cost
Pick 6, Jackpot & Place Accumulator, multiply out the total number of choices made for each leg. Example: In a Jackpot you choose four horse’s in Leg 1; three horse’s in Leg 2; one horse in Leg 3; two horse’s in Leg 4. This is 24 combinations x R1 each (4x3x1x2) = R24.
Fractional betting can be used to reduce the cost of all Trifecta, Quartet, Pick 6, Jackpot and Place Accumulator bets. In Jackpot example above, the Jackpot can be played for R12 (half or 50% of the full amount). If you win, you collect half the payout.
Once logged in, your Bet Slip will calculate the number of combinations and give you the option of choosing the number of times or stake as well as calculating the bet for you instead of having to calculate it yourself.
Racing Terminology
Age: In the Southern Hemisphere, all horse’s age a year on 1 August regardless of their date of birth. Generally horse’s fully mature at the age of four. Male horse’s are dubbed colts until they turn five, after which they are termed horse’s. Females are termed fillies until age five and thereafter mares.
Alumites: Lightweight aluminium shoes fitted to horse’s’ hooves. The general consensus is that they enhance performance and most horse’s race in them, although in some instances steel training shoes are left on for a race.
Allowance: A reduction in the weight allocated to a horse. Apprentice jockeys are allowed weight allowances until they have ridden 40 winners (allowances may not be claimed in major races). Horse’s get allowances in some races, either on account of their age or racing record.
Blinkers: Cups sewn into a hood that restrict or block a horse’s sideways vision and enhance concentration. Horse’s can improve when raced in blinkers for the first time.
Career record: A horse’s record can reveal a lot. Good horse’s win or place more often than horse’s with limited ability.
Colour: Most horse’s are bays (brown hair with a black mane, tail and points). Other colours are black, brown (brown hair throughout), chestnut, grey and roan. Colour is of no significance in terms of racing ability.
Class of race: The more races a horse has won or the more elevated its merit rating, the higher the class of race it competes in. In Phumelela-produced publications Computaform and Winner’s World, classes are shown from A (the highest) to G (the lowest), making it easy to spot horse’s moving up or down in class.
Draw: The stall in the mechanical starting gate from which a horse starts a race. The draw or barrier position is usually of little account, but is important over certain distances at certain racecourses.
Gelding: A male horse that has been castrated. Gelding is a minor surgical procedure and usually enhances a horse’s temperament. Horse’s without stallion prospects are usually gelded and this is to their benefit after their racing careers.
Handicap: A race in which the weight carried by each runner is determined by its merit rating, which is allocated by the handicapper. The aim is to equalise the chances of the runners. The weight carried includes the jockey and riding equipment. If necessary, lead weights are inserted into pockets in the saddle to make up the required weight. Weights carried are strictly monitored and the Clerk of the Scales weighs out all jockeys with their equipment before each race. The riders of all runners in each race are weighed in afterwards and their mounts declared non-runners if the weight is over 0,5kg less than what was initially allocated.
Jockeys: Self-employed professionals, who are paid a riding fee to ride horse’s in races. They also receive a percentage of prize money.
Maiden: A horse that has not yet won.
Stakes: The prize money offered in a race, which is divided among owners, trainers and jockeys of the first five finishers (usually) according to a formula. Stakes won by a horse are often a good guide to its ability.
Trainer: Self-employed professionals, whom owners pay a fee to train their horse’s.
Weight-for-age: A race in which the weight carried is determined by a horse’s age. In plate races the weight is determined by the number of wins and in handicaps by the merit rating.
Ante Post
Ante-post prices are offered on most major horse racing events up to 3 days prior to the scheduled day of the race. Ante-post bets are accepted on the basis of all in run, unless a "with a run" price is offered. Stakes are lost if an ante-post selection does not take part. No deductions are made to winning ante-post bets.
Where weather or outside influences cause an event to be postponed or rescheduled to another day then ante-post bets will stand, provided that the entries are not re-opened.
Ante-post bets on horse racing will be void if the race is officially abandoned or declared void, or the conditions of the race or venue are altered. Should bets be void due to these circumstances then any multiple bet, which includes this selection will be paid out on the remaining selections.
Venue Change / Postponement
In the event of a venue change , all bets will be null and void.
In the event of racing being postponed, bets will stand if the racing takes place within 48 hours of the postponement. If racing has not commenced within 48 hours of postponement then all bets will be declared null and void.
In all horse races, excluding ante-post bets, if a horse is withdrawn without coming under starters orders it is treated as a non-runner. A deduction may be made from the winnings of bets struck at a fixed price and, if there is sufficient time to form a new market / starting price, the starting price will be subject to the same deduction. The deduction will be defined in accordance with the following table.
